Children born in 2007 who reside in New York City are eligible to attend kindergarten at any New York City public school in September 2012. The kindergarten application period is open from January 9 through March 2, 2012. During the application period, you should visit your zoned school to fill out an application. Some districts also have non-zoned or choice schools to which you can apply during the application period. All applications received by the March 2, 2012 deadline will be treated the same—admission is notfirst-come, first-served.
